Developed by our dermatologist and a team of pharmacy engineers, all VGDerma cosmetics combine forefront environmental protocols with centuries-old natural welfare ingredients certified and adapted for sensitive skin. Our signature formulations combine western dermatological and clinical knowledge with eastern Indies skincare tradition.
Each formula labeled “hypoallergenic” (regulation EC 1272/2008) has been carefully developed with as few ingredients as possible to enhance skin’s natural radiance, while protecting sensitivity and natural cell regeneration.
Being 100% transparent about our composition is a key factor of the brands DNA. Elaborated with the least number of components, VGDerma formulas implement necessary elements for the well-preservation of its cosmetics that were selected with the same level of vegetal and skin respectful requirements as the approved hydrating agents.
- Vegetable glycerin is naturally derived from sunflower and rapeseed and enhance superficial skin moisturising.
- Organic almond oil is rich in saturated fatty acids that strengthen the cutaneous barrier and intensely nourish the skin.
- Carroten is a phenomenal component when it comes to prevent and treat skin sensitivity to the sun.
- Ginseng is an essential element of the traditional asian herbal medicine, this natural emollient smooths and brightens skin, soften hair enhancing and protecting volume and natural brilliance.
- Undaria pinnatifida (wakame) is a millennium age known Japanese traditionnal seaweed with exceptional anti-ageing and rejuvenating minerals that penetrate skin.
- Coconut cetearyl glucoside is a vegetal emulsifier that allows the purified water and functional ingredients to blend in a lasting and stable way.
- Sugar cane butylene glycol is a humectant and tensio-active element used in anti-ageing cosmetic technology sourced from responsibly grown sugar cane which ease skin hydration with a highly moisturizing power.
- The integrity of VGDerma products is made from purified and filtered water alongside vegetal glycerin moisturisers and cleansing components.
- To avoid any risk of irritation, a cosmetic product must have a pH level similar to the skin. Sodium hydroxide lowers the cosmetic’s acidity to make it easily compatible with the cutaneous surface.
- Sweet and bitter almond essential oils is used in our cosmetics are exclusively first cold pressed to ensure the highest quality with the purest virgin seed’s nourishing qualities.
- Peel oil form organic tangerine (citrus reticulata), bitter orange (citrus uranium dulcis) and blood orange (citrus sinensis sanguinea) are key components to VGDerma’s identity. Traditionally used in the mediterranean region for their naturally purifying and refreshing criteria, they offer anti-inflamatory benefits and naturally boost immune the system.
- Xanthan gum is a non-irritant emulsifier that is frequently found in products designed for sensitive skins to ensure a long-lasting effect of its active element. It is naturally proceeded with vegetal sourced glucose from responsably grown sugar cane.
OUR BLACKLISTED INGREDIENTS
As a matter of caution and in alignment with our sensitive skin formulation, we decided to exclude from our formulas many ingredients which may cause immediate or delayed risk to health and the environment.
- 0% Paraben: it may distrub natural hormonal balance and it is inappropriate to use in sensitive skin dedicated products and during pregnancy.
- 0% Silicone: qualified as « endocrine pertuptors » in countless scientific reviews it also pollute drinkable water.
- 0% Phenoxyethanol: known as a potential irritant with neurotoxic effects, easily absorbed through skin pores, this chemical element is inappropriate to sensitive skin and in particular young children and babies.
- 0% Animal derived ingredients: VGDerma is engaged in sustainable cosmetics and committed to preserve natural resources excluding every kind of animal derived ingredients (animal collagen, fish guanine, sheep lanolin or beeswax).
- 0% Phthalates: absorbed directly through the skin into bloodstream, phthalates are EU banned chemicals for toxicity causing endocrine disruptor negative effects.
- 0% Aluminium salts derived ingredients: due to the high controversy of this element (with kidney and breast diseases suspicions), we decided to simply exclude such elements in all of our formulations.
- 0% Mineral oils: derived from petroleum and obtained from an harmful extraction process for the environment, this refined product was to be excluded from our sustainable ingredient selection.
- 0% Artificial fragrance/perfume: likely to create allergic reactions in sensitive skins.
- 0% Triclosan: harmful for the environment and the aquatic ecosystem (fishes and corals) VGDerma being a « marine ecosystem protect » labeled and engaged brand, excluding triclosan was an obvious choice.
